- The Teaser
I knew we’d see familiar faces this episode and that these appearances wouldn’t be happy & worry- free reunions for the Winchesters but I definitely wasn’t expecting Crowley to be killing them off to get the boys to reveal the whereabouts of Kevin and the Demon Tablet. This certainly amped up the intensity of the episode as the boys found themselves in a race against time whilst trying to save the people they had rescued from prior hunts; starting with Tommy Collins (Wendigo, Season 1). That opening scene had a very creepy feel, especially since I kept expecting a Wendigo to burst either through the window or door at Tommy, it was the element of surprise though that made the scene creepier and not to mention Tommy’s head exploding. Quite an eerie sequence, but awesome special effects for sure.

- Domestic!Dean
I can’t stress enough how much I love Domestic!Dean this season, it’s so sweet to see him looking out for his little brother. Despite running low on food, Dean gathers whatever he can just as long as Sam has some fuel to recover his strength with, even if that means a half drunk beer, jerky and three peanut butter cups. Or as we saw in the The Great Escapist when Dean made soup for Sam and teased him about feeding him airplane style with a spoon (can u imagine Dean doing that to Sam when they were kids?). These little moments between the brothers are very special, demonstrating the strong bond between the two, how Dean carries his brother and is his strength (through good and bad) since the very beginning; as when John placed Sam in his arms telling Dean to run out of their burning home and not look back. After this episode I couldn’t help but imagine little Sam and Dean left alone during their father’s hunts, and Dean doing the exact same thing in this scene probably getting peanut butter cups for Sammy from a vending machine. Gotta love that Winchester bond.

- Castiel and Pie
I felt so bad for Castiel this episode, apologizing to the boys for having left them and taking the Angel Tablet. His “I’m sorry” face was so adorable, I just wanted Sam and Dean to hug it out and forgive him; I want Team Free Will back cuz I miss my boys kicking ass together.

Talking about adorable, there was nothing cuter than seeing Cas walk right into that store doing the grocery run Dean was unable to do. That scene was adorably hilarious and sweet, between Cas picking out groceries for the boys, leaving freezer doors open, breaking an egg and accidentally knocking a shelf over while the cashier kept on yelling dude. Of course Cas’ I have money remark to the cashier’s protest was priceless. Best parts of the scene were of course Cas grabbing Dean’s favorite things: Jerky, Busty Asian Beauties Mag, a pack of beer, pie and even toilet paper lol

Cas: Where’s the pie?

Cashier: I think we’re out.

Cas: You don’t understand, I need pie!

Metatron: Put the virgin down Castiel.

Cas trying to get Dean some pie and yelling at the cashier for it was the cutest thing ever, I saw it as an attempt to earn the boys forgiveness, which Dean should give in and forgive Castiel. After all he tried to get him pie and scared a cashier half to death for it! If that doesn’t say I’m sorry, you and Sam are family to me then I don’t know what does lol

This is why I love Cas, because of how much he cares about the boys they’re his family and he’s theirs.

- The Secret Room and Demon Cleansing The secret room Sam and Dean found behind the shelves was pretty cool, I can definitely see the boys kicking demon ass in there. Also it was very interesting to see what Sam is going to be doing for his third trial through the clips the boys watched. This convinces me even more that Sam’s body is being purified as he stated in 8x21 so he can cleanse a Demon. Which I think is a cool element for the show, especially since it looks like Sam is gonna be cleansing Crowley. If Sam succeeds to do this with Cowley it’s gonna be very interesting to see him cleansed and being good.

- Cas and Metatron Another interesting element presented in this episode are the trials Cas decided to face with the help of Metatron in order to keep the angels locked in heaven. I really liked seeing Cas and Metatron team up and look forward to seening what other trials they have to face in order to stop Naomi.

- Abaddon

Abaddon is such an awesome baddie, it was great to see her again in this episode. I get the feeling she’s either going to work with Crowley or is going to try to take over hell (if Crowley is the demon who gets cleansed). I can’t believe how easily she is escaped the boys though, when they left her to take Crowley’s call I was like…seriously?!

but that means we’ll get to see her in the season finale, so I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen with Abaddon tomorrow.

- Sarah & Crowley It was awesome to see Taylor Cole back on SPN, though this was one of the saddest scenes of the episode. I was practically yelling at the screen for the boys to throw down the picture frames to find the hex bag that would have saved Sarah (even though it turned out in the most unexpected of places). I was sad to see Sarah go, especially since Sam & Sarah are one of my fave SPN pairings and would have loved to see them dating again. Sam’s face after he desperately tried to save her broke my heart, he looked so defeated to the point of almost giving into Crowley’s deal. Btw despite the sadness of the episode I loved Crowley’s nickname for Sam (among his huge list of nicknames for him lol): Moosie. I swear that was just freaking adorable!

Another thing to point out was Crowley’s use of the Supernatural books, loved how they threw in the fourth wall, gotta love the use of meta! The fact that Crowley used the SPN books as a reference to the boys history was such a cool element in the episode. Despite all that I am still angry at Crowley for killing Sarah. I mean come on? what the fuck are you doing to Sam? Stop torturing our moose!

- Final Scene One of my favorite moments of course was the final scene, Dean’s words to Sam urging him not to give up summed up what the Winchesters stand for: FAMILY, sticking together they’ll always figure things because as Dean put it…

we’ll kick it in the ass, we always do!

Truer words cannot be said, they’re the Winchesters after all. Dean’s words in this final scene were such a great tribute to Kim Manners, I loved it! This episode was excellent and created a greater anticipation of tomorrow’s season finale for me. And now it is just dawning on me…Supernatural season 8 ends tomorrow, we’re just hours away! I am both excited and sad, half of me can’t wait but the other half dreads hellatus. One thing’s for sure…gigantor Sammy-sized feels are coming right ahead tomorrow! Gotta mentally prepare because the title of the episode alone (Sacrifice) is making me nervous! What more will our boys have to sacrifice?
